Alejandro Moscoso

Alejandro Moscoso was born on April 28th 1990 in Moca, Dominican Republic and was brought up in Santo Domingo.  He knew the only thing he wanted to do for the rest of his life was performing, so when he turned 18 he went to law school. This didn’t stick.

Since he was a child he had this dream for singing and be on TV, however, he never took any acting, singing or dance classed during his childhood… he was a normal kid going to school, but with an enormous passion and desire of being on stage, even for a simple performance at school. Ale would be the first one to raise his hand whenever someone was asked  to read a poem, sing, or dance. He would do it with a smile on his face.

Alejandro joined the Colegio Cardenal Sancha Chorus at the age of 12 and while in high school, was part of Colegio Santa Teresa’ Chorus as well. It was also in High School when he showed a desire to write scripts and songs for all the performances at school.

At the age of 18 Ale had his first mind blowing experience with professional theatre, when he joined the ensemble of the Musical Hairspray and performed at the National Theatre of the Dominican Republic. He later became a contestant on the TV show Latin American Idol DR, becoming one of the 20 Final contestant.

It was one week after he lost, that he flew to NY and auditioned for the American Musical and Dramatic Academy from which he graduated on May 2011.

with no regrets for quitting law school and follow his own dream, Ale is beginning his career as a NY Actor, interpreting the roles of Maximo and Giovanni in his debut for the Hispanic theatre Community on NY with the play Taboo. Alejandro recently performed at the Duplex as part of the Bound for Broadway cabaret. He is now in rehearsal for his next musical show, where he’ll play the role of Tito.
