Official poster and festival announcements!
Hello everyone. We do hope this update finds you well and that you and all your loved ones are safe and healthy. Times are crazy at the moment, and it’s clear that almost every aspect of life will be effected by this crisis for a while to come. Same goes for the film industry.
We’ve been submitting the film to festivals for the last few months, and we’re waiting to hear back from a lot. The festivals, of course, also suffered a blow by the pandemic, with some cancelling altogether, some postponing, and some moving on-lline. There are pros and cons to each course of action, but since everything is a precedent, it’s very hard to gauge the meaning of it all, not just for our movie, but for other creators who were looking forward to releasing films this year.
That said, we do have a few exciting updates! First of all, today marks a year since we shot The Book of Ruth. Time does fly! We figured this would be a nice opportunity to check in, and share with you, the people without whom we wouldn’t have been here, our official poster for the very first time!
But that’s not all! We have been accepted to multiple festivals, and we’re looking forward to share the film with the masses! 🙂 We launched a screenings page on our website, where we’ll also list any future events.
The festivals:
–deadCenter Film Festival in OKC, OK, June 11-14, one of MovieMaker Magazine’s top 50 festivals in the last few years. This festival has been moved to an online format due to the Coronavirus. Which might mean people from all over can attend virtually. Details to follow.
–Julien Dubuque International Film Festival in Dubuque, Iowa. This festival is set (as of now) to take place between June 17-21.
–BZN International Film Festival in Bozeman, Montana. The festival is set to take place August 27-30.
And that’s it! Hopefully we’ll have some more good news soon.
Stay safe, everyone!
