But I'm a Shoe
But I'm a Shoe is a short comedy film starring Janet Varney. It is a combination of live action and animation. The film premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival in 2024.
The script was the winner for Best Screenplay (unproduced) at the 2022 SENE Film Festival, a 2nd Rounder at the 2022 Austin Film Festival script writing competition, and a finalist at the 2022 Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival.

The Book of Ruth
The Book of Ruth is Chen's first short film starring Tovah Feldshuh. The film has been in more than 40 festivals domestically and worldwide and won multiple awards.
The film touches on themes of memory, fame, ancestry and more. Chen has been a guest in multiple screenings and speaking engagements at JCCs around the county.
