A Great time was had in McMinnville, which was to be expected, and now, with eyes set on Phoenix and Dubuque next month. Thank you Andrew, for our updated poster, and McMinnville Short Film Festival (and Katie Carodine who took the picture) for a great time!

Very cool news about Dubuque are in the works, for both Janet Varney fans and bookstore fans, but in the meantime I’m also back working hard to make Blood and Sex Over Ambition happen. Here are updates about that:
So, my birthday is in one week!
If this inspires you for some giving or you just love art and queer tales, my new project, Blood and Sex Over Ambition, is at a 1/3 of its budget, and I cannot emphasize enough how every little bit matters. Hold on, let me tell you a bit more.

The film is a historical-fiction short, aimed at explaining what transpired between Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin in southern France, in the winter of 1888, through a queer lens.
What we got aside from a 1/3 of our budget, you ask? Well:
- An INCRIBLE team with Keaton Morris-Stan producing, Gregory Kasunich (whose short, The Heart of Texas was just long-listed for the Academy Awards) directing, and Michelle Matland, the Emmy-nominated costume designer of Succession heading the wardrobe department.
- And as a prove that every little bit helps – Blick Art Supplies donated a $250 gift card which we’ll use to purchase some of our art-related props.
So there are many ways to help, indeed! Here are just a few: (TL; DR –Birthday fundraising campaign for my next film about gay painters! We’re 1/3 there!)
- Yes, $ is still the best way to assist us. We have a fiscal sponsor so all donations are tax deductible, AND, this money is being put in a high yielding savings account which means you’re helping us make more money! Even if you donated $10.Want to donate? email me at gracedragonproductions@gmail.com. We do offer an EP credit for high-level donations.
- Corporate matches – some companies will match the donation of their employees. Does your employer do this? Talk to me

- In kind donations! That means filming equipment (so we can rent less!), locations (we need an apartment with an old timey look), services (are you an artist who can maybe create/copy some pieces for us? Do you have a van and want to drive people/equipment to set?).This is such a broad thing. There are many ways to help!
If you want to be a part but not sure how, also feel free to reach out and we can meet and talk.
Special thanks to graphic designer extraordinaire, Vasina Gold, for the graph!
