Accolades! We Love ‘Em!

Hello All.

It has been incredibly busy, in other words – nothing new under the sun.

First, some But I’m a Shoe news.

So excited to announce that the film has been accepted to the Anchorage International Film Festival. We will be screening there in early December. All details, when available, will be on our screening page.

But I'm a Shoe accepted to the Anchorage International Film Festival

I have every intention of being there and hopefully getting a glimpse of the northern lights which have eluded me for years.

But wait! That’s not all!

A great time was had at the Gig Harbor Film Festival, and if fun times on a boat isn’t enough, know that Janet Varney was nominated for best actress. Not a small feat when you’re playing an animated shoe and everyone else is in flesh and blood. She really deserves all the love and I’m glad the festival recognized that.

While at the festival, I sat down for a deep dive with Excuse the Intermission pod. I’m at the very beginning of the episode.

Thanks for having me!

Speaking of recognition, Elena, the director of the excellent doc, Looking Up (I’m its proud impact producer!) has won the New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) Award for Excellence in Documentary Directing at the Soho Film Festival.

A first-time director, a sold-out NY premiere, and a wonderful topic. Not too bad!

I had a great time at the screening with the entire team (as seen in the top picture of this post.)

We have so many screenings coming up in November and December, including, but not limited to, screenings in St. Louis (where But I’m a Shoe premiered almost a year ago!), Israel (3 screenings!), Russia, and Helsinki.

Follow here to buy tickets to any of the screenings, and if you’d like to bring the film to your community, please reach out to me at gracedragonproductions@gmail.com.

Last but not least, I’m beyond excited to announce that I’m joining the advisory board of Inwood Art Works, the organization behind the Inwood Film Festival and so many artistic initiatives in the Upper Manhattan community. I’ve long done community outreach in almost every job I’ve had, and I’m excited to a part of such a wonderful nonprofit, that has supported me for years.

So much more coming in the next few months!

Stay tuned!
